I'm having the exact same problem! I tried everything as well, even the hidden files and things like that. I installed most of my games by disk, then realised I didn't have my generations disk present so I used Origin. I've installed the entire game many times before but this is the first time I ever had this error.
I originally thought it was because I must've quit my origin when it was still installing the game, and that it's been bugged because of this, but if other people have it randomly, I guess not.
