Sims 3 Generations won't install properly

I have had the Sims 3 game installed on my PC for years, when certain problems showed up I would uninstall and reinstall the game and the problems would be fixed. I have all the expansion packs, and most of the stuff packs. Recently as I was playing my game and felt I was missing something for my game. When I exited the game and looked in the startup menu "expansions" spot I noticed Generations was missing. I went into the EA app and looked in the add-ons section and noticed that the app says it's installed. when I took a closer look the generation's installation capacity was 900MB which is too small for the actual pack to have been installed with. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the pack and nothing changed. I uninstalled and reinstalled The Sims 3 entirely again nothing. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still no luck. This is my favorite pack and I'm very upset it's not working.

    Hi @HollowSimer 

    This sounds like your version of Generations needs to be re-added to your account- this isn't something we can do over the forums since we can't access your account information, but live support can review the entitlements on your account and get this pack re-added. 

    Please reach out to live support from the site here so they can review this further with you. I'd also recommend you attach this AHQ conversation when you contact the team so they have further information to reference.

  • @HollowSimer  900 MB is the right size for Generations, which doesn't come with its own world or a significant change in features (like Seasons, for example).  It sounds like the pack might have been blocked your account.  Where and when did you buy it?  If you received a bad code, it could have been cancelled after the fact.

    I originally used a disc to install the pack back in 2014. Once EA started using Origin it moved into the app, and then it moved again with the EA app. At one point I merged accounts and lost many of my packs, but I didn't lose generations. I was told by EA support it is indeed a bug they cannot fix it from their end.

  • I did reach out about 3 weeks ago now. I was told it was a bug and nothing could be done but they would look into it. I haven't heard anything since then.
