"Sims 3 Has Stopped Working"

I've had it with EA. I've payed a lot of money for this game, bought when it first came out and it has NEVER worked. I get about 30 seconds in to either live mode, build mode, or CAS and it crashes to desktop with an error message saying "Sims 3 has stopped working". I have tried everything there is to try. I've spoken to technical support who have given me "solutions" that were supposed to work and never did. I've done everything on the crashing check list as well as installed third party mods that claim to improve game performance. Tried reinstalling the game, tried the DEP fix, tried deleting .cache files, tried everything. I'm at the point where I just want my money back. Tried installing the game on several computers and the problem was the same. I'm using digital copies of the game and it's expansion packs from my origin account so it's not a disk problem. I'm running Windows 8 on an Asus N76V and using Nvidia GeForce GT 650m graphics card. My RAM far exceeds the minimum requirements for running the game so I'm sure memory is not an issue.

Help!

A few things you could try that seemed to work for me, my game hasn't crashed in days:

    1) Add Sims as a DEP exeption here is a tutorial on how to do that: http://www.trainingtech.net/configuring-data-execution-prevention-in-windows-8/

Make sure you add the files in all of these folders:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Packs

And in Game\Bin for every expansion pack.  There won't be a "Packs" file in your expansion folders.

It might not allow you to add some files, (usually sims 3 launcher ones)  this is normal.

    2) If you use Norton, this might be interfering with your game.  Before you play your game put Norton in silent mode.  This can be done by right clicking on the icon in your tray (it might be on your toolbar) and you will see the option "turn on silent mode".  Just turn it off then, when you are done playing.
