Sims 3 Important Bugs + Errors
Hello! I've always been a big fan of the Sims, but a-lot of times, there have been so many bugs to the point where it was off-putting to play. Luckily I've managed to fix a few of these problem...

I'm pretty sure EA is aware of most of these bugs but IMHO, 1.67 was the last patch we got. EA is pretty much done with Sims 3.
Keep in mind that I don't work for EA and don't have any inside info on this or anything, it's just my personal opinion.
That said, to your issues:
LN Bars: The IP patch borked exising bars so did you try to just replace the bar itself to see if that triggers a mixologist ? They also like to get stuck in places so question is if they were never generated or if they are stuck somewhere
Firefighters: I know a lot of people have issue with the career and I wonder if it has something to do with the career outfit (the no co-worker is a different issue of course) but the drop of icon could be caused by this.
Try to edit their outfit whie they are in their work outfit. If they only have one, make a custom one and play with that. If it works, delete it to restore the default one.
