Sims 3 Island Paradise will not install

• What's your operating system ?
• Does the launcher show 1.55 at the bottom ?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIMELY RESPONSE!  I am using PC Vista 64 home edition, using the internet download for Island paradise.  It downloaded fine.  And no, my launcher shows 10.0.96.021017.  Since the move over to Origin I have had the message 'unable to connect to Origin'.  I addressed this issue some time ago and was told it was not important as I could download the newest super patch manually, which I did for Sims Pets.  I had 1.55 ALREADY downloaded and working fine.  But just to be sure I RE-loaded the patch - it even told me that 1.55 was already installed, but I went ahead and over wrote it with 1.55 again.  That patch installed fine.

Now when I hit the 'install' button, it seems like it starts but then gives me the message that the newest patch must be installed using my game launcher.  For the above reasons, I cannot.  I am at a loss and would really appreaciate some help.  Thank you.

the same thing happenned to me! It also happened on university life. I had to rebuy almost the whole series and reinstall it along with origin. This time, I just uninstalled origin and reinstalled. I cant get the game to work! I'm really sad!

Might be best to uninstall the base game and reinstall. For now, you can just reinstall the base game instead of the whole thing.

I tried that and it didnt work. but I figured out how to fix the problem. Go to this link: http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/The_Sims_3/Patch_55 and manually patch. then your game should install properly! 😕mileyhappy:

for me It says " PowerPC applications are no longer supported" when i try to install Island Paradise of Sims3. i have a new ish computer and its up to date and ive got all the other games/expansions and im so angry i cant figure this out. please someone help me. i have searching for answers and no one can help me. im gonna cry in a second

Yup! Me too and Im gettin real pissed here! Been getting the run-around from EA since last night. They have MY MONEY but I have nothing to show for it! I want my game or I want MY MONEY BACK!!!!

Are you daft?? SHE SAID THAT DOESNT WORK!!! And I too have updated through launcher AND manually...it fixes nothing!

After I got help getting my game on orgin- because it wouldn't install the disc i purchases (PC power issue), then island paradise confirmed it had downloaded with the help of an EA person on the phone. When i then realized it would not launch unless i had updated, i updated and it verified and then said some things had been modified and only let me chooce to quit. then nothing happened and then it asked if i wanted to update the latest version. i said okay and same thing happened. i looked online to try to fix the problem and they all said to get super patch. it took me awhile to find the region code. they said it was the last digiit from the version code that is on the launcher. mine was 7 so i did that- which was apparently digital version. and i guess that is my base game region code. i downloaded the patch for Mac and then evrything went through downloaded. i did just what this instructions tole me to do- http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/549552.page but when i got to the part D, the last step, where in the finder window that appears, "navigate to where the base game has been installed, by default this will be in the applications folder. click on the base game application icon once to highlight it. click the update button at the bottom right corner of the finder window and wait for process to finish completely" i did all that and i was hoping for a solving to the problem finally, and suddenly another evil message came up and said "you cannot apply this patch on this version of the application. " please re-install. First of all i've had sims3 since before dianosours and all the other expansions and sims2 etc. so i dont even know where the original disc is, or if it is saying i will need it. I've moved houses and states  in the last 10 years..... i have the university disc i had been using before i bought sims3 paradise, (island paradise is currently in my disc drive, not that either will work now. i cant even just go back to using sims3 university anymore. it demands i update to the newest version, and then since i can't, i got the super patch digiital version (7) after going thru hell to find what region code is.... im not tech savvy this is basically torture and i've spent 2 FULL days form 9-5 working on this. so i dont evn know how to reinstall the games if i dont have all the discs (all the expansion packs) to be able to do it again. and i cant find the option to be able to re-install island paradise, on orgin or in general. im going out of mind literally. if the patch doesnt work and the updates dont work, what am i supposed to do? i started reading about mods and i dont even know where that is or how to find it or why it would be important. confused. pissed. sad. going crazy. ive tried everything on the planet and customer service isn't open on sundays.
