Sims 3 Late Night and Ambitions expansion pack will not work

Before the new Origin update I had the Sims 3 with University Life, Seasons, Pets, Generations, and Late Night. They worked perfectly fine. After I updated to the new Origin, I bought Ambitions. Once I installed it, my game would no longer open and I got "unknown error occurred." Also, the Ambitions expansion would not show in the folder with the rest of my expansions. I uninstalled the sims 3 and all of my expansions, then tried to install the base game again. The base game worked fine until I installed Ambitions, so I got rid of it and got a refund from Origin. I reinstalled the rest of my expansion packs and they worked great...until I reinstalled Late Night. Now the Late Night expansion pack is doing the exact same thing Ambitions is doing. It won't show in the folder with the rest of my expansions and I can't open my game unless I uninstall it. SUPER frustrated and I have had so many problems with Origin from the beginning, this is just one more.
