Sims 3 Launcher keeps crashing on Mac M3 Sequoia

Hello,

I have just downloaded the EA app on my MacBook Pro, and it is the first time I am trying to launch sims3 on it. Once the launcher opens and I press the play button, the game instantaneously full screens and then crashes immediately.

I've enabled full dish access for the EA app, the EABackgroundAgent, the EALauncher, and The Sims 3, but nothing has changed.

I have seen other users having similar issues, but none of the solutions I've seen are working. I'd appreciate any help!

Thank you!

  • Ria-leaf  You have Windows Defender on your Mac?  Any particular reason for that?

Separately, try playing in a new admin user account.  Don't connect it to your Apple ID (you can skip that step).  Open the EA App and repair the game (Sims 3 > Manage > Repair), then try to play.  You'll likely need to be online at least the first time you open the launcher.

Hi puzzlezaddict, thank you for the recommendations. Unfortunately, the same thing is happening even when trying to play offline.

I have Microsoft Defender on my laptop, but it doesn't seem to identify any of the game files as threats, and even when I exclude them from scanning the same thing happens.

    Unfortunately I haven't got Sims 4 installed, so I can't test that.

  • Ria-leaf  Try playing with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App, then disable wifi before pressing Play.

If that doesn't help, please let me know whether you use an antivirus, a VPN, or some kind of cleaner app.  Please also let me know whether Sims 4 works, if you happen to have it installed.  You don't need to download it, but if it's already present, it would be useful to know how it runs.
