@axelchains1 Do you have iCloud storage enabled and set to sync the contents of Documents? If so, it's possible your Sims 3 user folder, the one in Documents > Electronic Arts, was moved to cloud storage and is no longer on your computer. Sims 3 always looks for the folder locally—it can't find the copy in iCloud—and if it doesn't see a folder, it creates a new one with no content.
Please look in iCloud Drive for any Sims 3 content. If you find your missing folder, you'll need to disable iCloud syncing and then transfer that folder back to the local version of Documents. To access the settings, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of your screen and select System Preferences > (Apple ID > ) iCloud, click the Options box next to iCloud Drive, and uncheck the box for "Desktop & Documents." Then, without signing out of iCloud entirely, move the Sims 3 folder from cloud storage to your desktop or somewhere else safe, so it's copied back to your computer. You can disable iCloud going forward if you want, but it shouldn't be necessary as long as you have auto-syncing of Doccuments disabled.
Move the Sims 3 folder back to your local version of Doccuments > Electronic Arts. To make sure you're in that version, open a Finder window and click Macintosh HD (or whatever you've renamed your hard disk) > Users > your username > Documents.
