Did you check on your myPage if it registered despite that error message ?

@Nyanryann Hey there, I came here because I ran into the same problem after trying to register my sims 3 pets through sims3.com
I bought the original expansion pack years ago & wanted it on my new hp pavillion which doesnt have a disc insert.
I didn't find anything other than your post relating to what I was experience. I came here to let you & anyone else that runs into the problem know that I entered my code with out any caps for my final attempt in registering my pack & it worked! Every other attempt I made I was entering my code with cap letters. Hope this saves someone else from the frustration!

@Verrronicavrol Thank you so much! I was having the same issue with registering my old copy of Showtime. Disabling capital letters worked for me
