@QuantumLightGiza  This is apparently a VC++ error as well.  (I had to look it up.)  Here's the list of runtimes the EA App uses, any of which could cause this error if it's not installed properly:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports-Technical-Issues/INFO-EA-app-What-does-this-INST-Error-Code-mean/m-p/12677203#M30055

I'd suggest uninstalling all the VC++ runtimes, other than 2005 x86 that you just reinstalled, and downloading fresh copies.  You can find them here:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

The 2022 versions replace the 2015-2019 versions, in case you've seen guides that make a distinction.  However, before installing the runtimes, I'd suggest running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Once again, restart your computer after installing the runtimes and before trying to reinstall the EA App.

  • Thanks Puzzle, i got sims 3 installed now, the only problem is when its on the loading screen to the main menu. The bar doesn't progress. I tried changing the files to match my gpu, allocated more ram usage and deleted cache and more. But no luck. Do you know any fix for this man. Thank you so much for helping me.

@QuantumLightGiza  Please undo the change that's supposed to allow more RAM use.  This is bad info that's been floating around for at least a decade and won't do anything about the game's memory use, which is capped just below 4 GB; this is a mathematical limit that cannot be overcome.  The edit suggested is actually to the game's script heap, and it's 20 GB, not 2; you can count the zeroes.  At best, editing this value will do nothing; at worst, it may cause more instability.

For the issue itself, have you added any mods or custom content?  If so, please move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  The game will spawn a new folder when you open the launcher again.

If that doesn't help, please create a new admin Windows account.  Make it local, as in, don't sign into your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 3 without reinstalling anything.  Let me know whether it works, and if not, what antivirus you use.
