Sims 3 not loading - help!

Hi there, I'm after some advice/help please. I bought a new laptop with Windows 11 already installed. When I try to play sims 3 the launcher sends me back to the EA app which reopens the launcher - ...

    @mysims678  The problem here could well be that you've installed the Sims 3 program files into Documents > Electronic Arts, which is where the user folder is located.  Mixing these two folders is unhelpful at best and can cause all sorts of issues.  And the error you saw when trying to move the folder is completely predictable too: the EA App leaves a background process running that objects to games' program files being moved or renamed.

    Point is, please uninstall Sims 3, through the EA App, and reinstall it somewhere else.  The App's default install location is Program Files\EA Games, which is fine, but you could also select a different location.  Just don't choose anywhere inside Documents, or Downloads or Photos or anything like that.  Program Files is fine, Program Files (x86) is fine, a new folder you create yourself is fine.

    Once you've reinstalled Sims 3 in the new location, try again to play and let me know whether it works.

@puzzlezaddict  Thanks for your reply. Moving the Sims 3 folder out did not work unfortunately, it said that 'The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program'  -   however it's not open anywhere, because I did not have it open or the EA app open, so unsure why it's being so awkward.

Checked the reliability monitor instead and the most recent Sims 3 error was the following:

At the moment I've only got the main base game installed to make things easier.

    @puzzlezaddict Reinstalled it onto Program Files/EA Games, and been able to play the game correctly with no crashes for hours now! Seems like it is all sorted. 

    I can't thank you enough for your help, I really really appreciate it! :D

      @Amber002  Then use Revo Uninstaller; the free version is fine.

      If that doesn't help, please let me know what issue you're seeing.

        @Amber002  Let me know if you need any more help.  And please keep the conversation to one thread.  It's difficult to keep track of info when it's spread out across multiple posts in several threads, and I only want to reply once each time.

    @puzzlezaddict Hi I don't understand where would I put sims 3 and medieval please

    I've done as you suggested.Ive delete sim 3 and deleted from EA APP Site I've changed to a new folder I'm now downloading sim 3 here is hoping it works sims 2 Ultimate is working fine

    It's much appreciated

    I'm trying a new folder firstly if it don't work I will uninstall and try the same Group as sims 2 which EA APP recognises
