Sims 3 not performing there jobs

Hi i am having trouble with my Sims 3. My Sims are refusing to do their singing and acrobat jobs. Every time I press perform they somehow teleport off the stage. And the other sim that does singing career, when i would press pefrom for tips or audition for a gig it won't do it. I have reset them a bunch of times but it's not working . Please tell me what to do and please also tell me why its happening.
