Sims 3 Pets download error

Although I have it in the Add-ons list and I bought it, I can't download The Sims 3 Pet, the same way I downloaded The Sims 3 and all the other add-ons.
Wait a few minutes in "Preparing" then the message "Download error" appears (with a triangle with an exclamation mark)
and a window opens with the title:
There's a problem with download
and the message:
Something went wrong during your download. Give us a few minutes, then try again.
After I click OK, in the bottom right instead of the message: "Download error" (with a triangle with an exclamation mark) appear
"paused"
and in the window: "Manage add-ons", next to The Sims 3 Pet it says "Downloading" (with the rotating circle) and it stays like that indefinitely (hours)
I have tried many times, uninstalled and reinstalled The Sims 3 several times and everything runs normally until The Sims 3 Pet, always with the same error messages.
I also proceeded to clear the cache, but there was no fix.
I repeat, during the same process of installing the game, calling the EA platform -> The Sims 3-> Manage add-ons, everything works ok, until The Sims 3 Pet, even if I leave it behind.

Let's try the following steps:

• Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
• Clear the cache for the EA app
• Run the EA app as an administrator 
• Check for any background applications blocking the EA App
• Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:
  • Close the EA app
  • Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field
  • In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available
  • Click Okay the bottom of the window
  • Open the EA app client and try starting the download again

No change, same behavior described in my post.

I tried the steps above and no luck. My EA reporter app code is 2a46c549-70d5-4aab-ac23-6c4c2bac3bed. 
This has been months of this & I'd really like to play one of my favorite packs. (The Sims 3 Pets).

Is there any issue with the Sims 3 Pets? My download keeps failing when preparing to download. All other expansion packs installed fine with no issues.
