Sims 3 Pregnancy Glitch In Game

So my female character got pregnant. Everything was going great then it was time to have her baby or babies (not really sure because of glitch). She goes to the hospital and has a baby, comes out, I get to name baby and pick out the traites for said baby. Once that is done she goes back into the hospital and gives birth again. It continues this way until I am wondering what is going on because now my family is a family of 10 with 8 babies.

I get onto talk to someone and go through 4 different advisers. The first one suggested I reset my sim and that did not work. The second said to clear my game cache, that did not work. The third told me to try loading the game without any of the custom content (problem with that is I don't even have any custom content). The fourth person could not figure out what else to try so she/he sent me here. Does anyone else know how I can fix this glitch and get back to playing my game because until this glitch is fixed I can't play this family and I like this family and I don't want to delete them. Please help.

  • Well what I did was save the game the day the baby was suppose to be born. Then I went to edit town, split up household, and moved the pregnant Sim into a different house. I played the father until he got the message saying the baby was born, then I moved everyone back in together.

@MandyYika  This kind of issue is not all that uncommon in TS3, especially with foundations.  You can reset the baby or the adult sim (or both): crtl-shift-C brings up the command console, then type "resetsim firstname lastname" without quotes.  Your sim will be transported to just inside the front door at the appropriate floor level.

If this doesn't work, or if you don't like the reset command, I've found that teleporting the adult will often fix the problem.  (I've only done it when the sim is standing in the foundation on his or her own, though.)  If you have the teleporter that you can purchase with Lifetime Reward points, you can tell the sime to "teleport home" using the cell phone.  If not, bring up the command console and type in "testingcheatsenabled true" without quotes.  Then hold the shift key and click on the ground, preferably somewhere without any building on it, and select "teleport me here."  If the adult is already holding the baby, the baby should be placed elsewhere first.  (I prefer the ground outside, as there are no complications from the foundation.)  If picking up the baby causes the problem to recur, reset the baby and teleport the adult again.

I don't know if you've done it, but this glitch is an excellent example of why the cheat "moveobjects on" should never be used to move a sim.  The glitch can happen without it, but the cheat makes problems like this much more common as well as more difficult to eliminate.

P.S. If you do use testingcheatsenabled true, be sure to turn it off (testingcheatsenabled false) when you're done.
