As a computer technician I wanted to let you know there has been a lot of discussion about Windows 8 not truly being compatable with a lot of programs and applications. For some reason it's not integrating with a lot of legacy software.
This may indeed be part of your problem.
I also noticed that even with the release of Win 8 full support for Win 7 remains. This may be because 8's main modification seems to be to interact with touch screen computers.
If it is possible for you to downgrade to Win 7, this may resolve your Sims 3 issues.
Good Luck.
Funny you should mention that. I did actually try running The Sims 3 on my Windows 7 partition (keeping it there for software just in case things go AWOL), but I do know for a fact that it's not Windows 8 causing the problems, as it worked just fine up until Seasons was installed (still on Windows 8) and the problem persists in Windows 7.

I have been able to run it on my laptop with WIndows 8 but I have not been able to play it for more than 10 minutes since installing it on my Mac. I had NO issues with my laptop.
