Sims 3: Sim icon GONE, can't interact with Sim, No moodlets, No panels

Not sure whats going on, but since i reinstalled the sims and the expansions I have, I can create a game, play it for however long, Save and quit. Later I come back to play again and the sims are in the house, One has the green diamond above it, but there are no sims on the side bar, There are no moodlets and the panels where it tells you what skills, what careers, what friendships etc are all gone and i cant expand it.

Really gutted as I have had 2 familys that I have had to delete and everytime i re load the sims, i have to delete my old games and start fresh.

Op system is Windows 7.

please help?

I did have happen to me and what I did was went to edit town and switched to a family near my sims lot I could then see my sims go in and out of the lot so i then went to edit town again and clicked in my sims lot and was able to save a copy of them to the library   which when i started a new game I was able to place my family into a lot and thankfully all was well with them just deleted the old game

what your can try is one of two things

1 start your game then save as new name then try the edit town save a copy of the family to the library and start a new game to see if all is well with them

2 start your game then save as new name then try the edit town save a copy of the family to the library  and in the top left will be your family like a  clipboard image delete that then place the saved copy of the family from the library back into the lot

the sims will keep the skills they have and friendships they have with each other and any items in the inventory but you'll be starting with the wishes and maybe building up friendships up around the the town again

The same thing happens to me but I can't use your solutions because once I try to save or evict my family, it stays on the possessing screen forever. Is there any other way around this? I feel like I've tried everything, and I really don't want to delete this family.

if your willing to share the save at the least i can try to save the family for you

go to your saves folder copy that save game folder to the desktop then right click it to zip it then do the same for the backup of that save then upload it to mediafire or googledrive send me a private message with the links once i download them I'll let you know so you can delete the uploads also let me know the name of the family and the town your in and if there are other sims in the game you want saved too

another thing to check too to see if something else is going on with the processing is make sure your not playing the game/is launched i.e. the game and Origin is not running then go to electronicsarts/sims3 see if there is a currentgame folder IF there are files in there delete them and if any .bad delete them too then launch and try again

always happening to my game. it sux really. wish there is another way. since i already controlled most of the town. also when i switch active household either using master control or edit town. still the same thing happened. i also downloaded the apartment mod... but alas, still the same thing in the end. sighed. most games that i liked ended up like that. so i have to delete the entire save game, and redo everything. we just want to have fun. really.
