Sims 3 Starter menu opening, Then EA opens

I’ve just bought a new pc, 4080super, 64gb ram, 2tb storage, downloaded sims 3 and it won’t open. It opens the starter menu where you can select packs, but as soon as you hit play and it closes, the EA app pops back open. I’ve been playing on a Mac with the only issue being it crashes, so I don’t understand why it won’t work.
