Sims 3 starter pack installation

I want to purchase the disk version of the sims 3 starter pack and i wanted to know if i can install it onto my desktop with windows xp but save the game to my flash drive because my computer will not have sufficient memory to save all the content on the computers hard drive? Is it possible to play the game with the content installed on a flash drive

I would not recommend doint that cause it's probably too slow and also will lead to all kinds of errors

That of course is not an official answer as I don't work for EA but my personal opinion. Nothing else I can offer.
