Sims 3 unicorn breeding

I have a horse and unicorn with a high friendship level but when I choose the 'try for foal' option a positive moodlet appears but then they don't do anything. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried everything.

    @alivia185 Do you have any mods or custom content? Also are you on a PC or Mac?

    I have a PC, I only have some expansion packs, I have no idea how mods work.

    For you to Breed your friendship level has to be Maxed out to breed
