Can't really help you as I don't play Sims 3 anymore but you said it never happened before ?
Did you change anything about the game ? Install new cc or mods ?

It's never happened before, yes, and my computer is still fairly new (about 2 months since I bought it), and I know the specs are capable of running the game. I only have a couple Store items, and no mods because I don't know too much about them.
But it did work on that specific computer ?
Should be easy enough to test so I'll give it a try over the weekend on my computer.
