Sims 3 will not start/launch/open on Windows 7 64 bit

Hi everyone,

I recently bought the humble bundle and downloaded Sims 3 from Origin. When I originally clicked on Sims 3, it started the launcher and asked me to download 2 patches and an update to the store. After I did that, I clicked play. The mouse spun for about 5-10 seconds and then stopped spinning. Nothing happened. When I checked my task manager, there wasn't an application running but in the processes ts3.exe and ts3w.exe were both running. I am on a Windows 7 64 bit OS. My graphics card is a GTX 650 Ti. I have gone through every single step and post to try to fix this and nothing works. Here's what I've done:

1. I ran all of the sims 3 application files in Windows Compatibility mode using XP SP3. (Still did not work.)
2. I went through and added sims 3 files to the DEP list. (Still didn't work.)
3. I went through and added rules to my firewall to allow access to all sims 3 applications and EA/Origin. (still didn't work.)
4. I turned my firewall off and started the game. (still did not work.)
5. I tried launching the sims 3 by bypassing the launcher. (Didn't work. I couldn't get sims 3 to bypass the launcher. It automatically popped up origins and then the launcher. No matter what application I selected.)
6. I looked and found that maybe I needed to deleted the DCCache files. I found where they were but when the game "launches" it is not getting to the point where it generates these files. All folders are empty.
7. I moved Documents/EA/Sims 3 to desktop, and launched game. (Didn't help.)
8. I renamed Documents/EA/Sims 3 to Sims 3 Backup. (Didn't work.)

At this point, I became extremely frustrated. I decided that maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall the game and try to use the manual patch. I had a lot of difficulty uninstalling the game. The Installshield Wizard kept stalling out when I would uninstall sims 3. I would have to end the process/program.

Before I reinstalled sims 3:

1. Used CCleanup to cleanup registry.
2. Defragged

I reinstalled Sims 3 from Origins. I made sure not to patch it using the launcher. However, the manual patch only goes up to 1.22 and the version that Origins downloads is a newer patch. So that wasnt it either. I performed the same steps I did originally. Nothing worked. I have the same problem.

It seems to me that it has a corrupt file or it is missing something from the install. But I don't know where to find a full sims 3 download that isnt on Origin.

BTW, I also updated java, .NET, and adobe flash. Please help me! I'm extremely frustrated and really want to play this game!

The download version needs to be activated by a SecuROM server. There may be another problem. I recommend uninstlling everything and use a program called cceaner from Piriform and clean the registry. THEN install the base game. Do you have Origin installed and up to date? Open the newly installed base game and let patch. Start the game to live mode. Then install the next released to market pack you own. Open launcher. Let patch. Play to live mode. Next released to market pack you own. And so forth. I'm guessing the game is not patching correctly.
