Sims 3 won't launch, no error
I was playing Sims 3 for a week or so then the next time I tried to launch it, it gave me the error of a problem on EA's part.
Been troubleshooting for the past few weeks and now there is no error. Every time I try to launch it, it goes straight back to EA Desktop.
I've been going through the forums here trying to find solutions and nothing has worked for me so far.
I ran a DXDiag and attached it.
Minnie326 Were you originally getting this error?
Failed to launch game
An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later. It's common for Sims 4 but not so much for Sims 3, and I don't know of a fix or workaround yet. But if you're not seeing it at all now, even after restarting your computer, then it's a moot point.
The errors in your dxdiag, and thanks for providing it, mostly have to do with .NET Framework 3.5, which Sims 3 uses. So try uninstalling and reinstalling it. Click Windows key-R, enter appwiz.cpl in the run box, click "Turn Windows features on or off," and the .NET entries will be near the top of the list. Click the filled-in box next to .NET 3.5 to uninstall, and restart your computer. Repeat the process, clicking the now-empty box to reinstall, and restart. If it's already uninstalled, you can install it and restart.
If you get an error when trying to reinstall .NET 3.5, please post a screenshot of it.
