sims 3

Sims 3 not working.

The game has downloaded fine along with all my expansion packs. 

I press the big blue play button, the games loads. NON of my existing games are on there. I press a new world to start a new games then i am shown an error.

' Serious problem with world, must restart game' 

I have no mods, i have the original sims 3 on disc along with 6 other expansion packs. Should i download these? They are registered with Origin 

I have:

- Uninstalled game, re-installed it

- Downloaded Direct X

- Cleared Catche

- Restarted ap 

- Restarted laptop

Does anyone know what this is?
