sims are pitch black, repairing doesn't help

hello! i installed mods for sims 3 recently and couldn't for  the life of me figure out which mod was causing black sims after CAS, so i removed all mods and factory reset + repaired my game. i have no mods in my game at all, however the sims are still black. my game is empty + repaired and i have no idea how to continue, and completely reinstalling the game takes an hour. afraid that if i reinstall it and try to add mods, ill have to keep reinstalling in hourly intervals while trying to figure out which mod it is thats causing my issue ☹️

UPDATE: i have completely reinstalled the game and the issue is still there LOL, wondering if this is just a setting in sims 3????? like sim quality??? ☹️

Just as an FYI, I've run into this issue when I've created a sim with custom skin and then removed that skin, usually because my harddrive crashed and I had to start over with downloading! What I have to do then is go into CAS for each sim and choose a skin that is in the game. If you've taken out your custom skins, just choose one of the skins that comes with the game. It should put it back to "right".

Do you have NRAAS Master Controller installed? I'm not sure but it might be necessary in order to edit an in-game Sim.

@columbia93  happens with every sim, even premade sims in the world unfortunately, which makes me believe i cant switch to a different skin considering its default.
