Sims Can't Interact with each other in University neighborhood

My sims can't interact with other sims or themselves when in the University neighborhood, but function normally in the home world. I've tried reverting to a previous save, clearing caches, uninstalling all custom content, reseting sims. I've read that in other expansion packs this can be fixed by evicting the family, moving them to another neighborhood, then moving back- but there is no change household option for the University. Please help!!!

    Is it just one Sim that is bugged or all Sims that were at University ? What about the phone ? Can they use their phones ?

    Are you using any mods in your game ?

    It's all non-NPC sims - I've tried three different families and the same has happenned for all three. And no mods - I did have the anysize lot mod but I deleted it and the entire mods folder a few weeks ago when I was having other problems with Sims 3. And nope, the phones don't work either. Also, sims can't go to sleep - they reset near the bed a few seconds after going to sleep every time.

    Yes, I tried clearing the cache files, and I just tried the factory reset and my saved game still doesn't work - I'm thinking I just need to start over. Is there anything I can do to prevent this in the future?
