u7fsosndm1jl When you're trying to start a new save, are you doing so after restarting your computer? If not, please try that now. And before you try again, delete the five cache files in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, again if you have already, as these can hold stale data.
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
Delete everything inside CurrentGame as well. This folder should never have any files inside unless you have a save loaded, but it doesn't always get emptied when the game freezes or crashes.
If you still can't start a new save, try while your computer is offline. You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi before pressing Play.
The point here is that you should absolutely be able to start a new save, and if it's not working, there's a bigger problem than whatever is wrong with your main save. So that problem likely needs to be addressed before your main save will work even if you've otherwise fixed it.
