Store Content Errors and Failed Installation

Hi!

As the title suggests, my store content has uninstalled itself for the second time in two weeks, and every attempt to reinstall is met with an error saying, "Please make sure your game has the latest Software Updates and try again".

I experienced this same issue last weekend and went through a tedious process of generating a new Sims 3 folder and downloading all my store content again using the launcher. All my content worked fine after that for one game session.

I've since encountered the error again today. I've attached a screenshot of the error and how my store content looks in the launcher under "installed content", which is odd because it shows boxes instead of the usual thumbnails.

I saw the same issue in this thread [CURRENT ISSUE] Sims 3 Store content uninstalls/won't reinstall, EA App | EA Forums - 11195730 which was apparently caused by an EA app update. Could this be the case again? I've been playing and using the launcher regularly without issues up until about two weeks ago when the issue first popped up. I hadn't done anything different up to then.

Is there any explanation for this?

I'm have the same issue as you! Have browsed the previous thread, tried everything people suggested. Doesn't matter how many sets, etc I install at a time, always uninstalls, which is messing up my save files (CAS, build/buy items are replaced). It's really annoying.

  • minosimu_nz  How many items or sets did you install at a time when you were rebuilding your user folder?  The launcher doesn't handle large amounts of data well, and trying to install too much at once can corrupt the files the content is bundled into, preventing the game from reading them or any higher-numbered files.  I'm not saying this definitely happened, only that it's possible.

If you don't think this is the issue, or you want to try something simple first, try deleting the SigsCache folder inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  It only helps some of the time, but it's easy enough.
