Struggling to get past the launcher.

When ever i start sims 3, the launcher opens then closes and EA app pops up instead. I have tryed reparing the game, a new folder, Checked windows, reinstaled the direct x and the net frame.

If i try enough times 20 or 30 is needed, the game will eventually open and plays fine while it is open but the trouble with launching the game happens again next time i try.

Any ideas what i can do to fix it?

Still, it's easy to try uninstalling and reinstalling the runtime.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click the 2005 version (it won't say x86, but that's what it is), and uninstall.  You can get a fresh copy here:

You only need the x86 version, not the others.  Restart your computer after installing it and before trying again to play.

If that doesn't help, given the variety of errors, I'd suggest running a repair install of Windows.  Here's how:

This shouldn't delete any of your data, but if you get to step 13 and are NOT asked to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.

Thank you, I found I had 2 copies of the 2005 version, so uninstalled both and installed the one you said, that fixed the issues with the launcher closing. Game now opens on first attempt.

As for the windows errors I had already done a DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth and sfc /scannow which said it had fixed a corrupt file but did an in place upgrade as well.
