Stuck at blue plumber screen after launcher on Sims 3

I am stuck at the blue plumbob screen after the launcher.  I am currently using a 13" MacBook Pro (Mid-2012) with Intel HD Graphics 4000.  My latest expansion is Into the Future and everything is up to date.  I've tried chatting with customer support but they are never able to fix the problem.  I am also currently trying to bypass the launcher, but that method isn't helping the situation either.

Yeah, NRaas has been really helpful. I think the problem is with some CAS packages, but I guess I'll see.  I will definitely turn off my wifi, those in-game store notifications are unnecessary.  Thanks again!  Hopefully things will run smoothly from now on.  (Of course! Cats should never go unnoticed—mine thinks I'm the bee's knees...when it's time for food.)

@nicrs20  The sites where you get your mods can help you with finding conflicts—places like NRaas and MTS still have an active, responsive community.  And just to note:  Even if you don't login, TS3 will still run online to some degree; that's how your FeaturedItems folder can fill up and your in-game shopping experience can still show up at the Main Menu, Build/Buy and CAS.  I always turn off wifi on my computer before playing.

P.S.  I love my cat too; thanks for noticing.  (He thinks I'm... fine.)

  • There is a way to get the Feature Items folder clean and it won't hurt your game. Make the file Read Only. It won't hurt your game, but it will make it run much more smoothly without having to clean that folder out all the time.

    1) Open your Sims 3 folder.

    2) Locate the Featureditems folder and right click on it.

    3) Choose the option of Get Info.

    4) Change all the Sharing & Permissions to Read Only (this is found at the bottom).

Mine is set to Read Only and it saves me a great deal of hassle when playing the game.
