The game started crashing for no reason and there are graphical issues

Hello! The problem started around mid-December. I loaded my save and played for about half an hour before the game crashed in buy mode. I reloaded, and the game crashed during the travel loading screen. I reloaded again, and black shapes appeared when I went into the settings. When I reloaded, I couldn't load the save at all; it crashed either in the main menu after entering the settings, or during loading.

I tried:
1) reinstalling the game, completely deleting The Sims folder
2) completely removing all active mods (the most stable state is without any mods, but the game crashes in create-a-sim mode or when loading a town)
3) running the game in a VirtualBox virtual machine (the game didn't start)
4) using The Sims 3 GPU Add-on
5) installing the game on a completely different (more powerful) computer, the problem persists.
6)  Unistal and manually install .NET Framework 3.5

Before the problem occurred, I hadn't loaded the game for several weeks, and there were no other changes (no new mods, no new hardware)

Specifications:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
RAM: 16.0 GB
System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64 processor
Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

Windows 10
Version 21H2
ОС 19044.5247

error - Faulting module name: MSVCR80.dll

Please help :(

  • szy205r1l67u  MSVCR80.dll is part of the 2005 VC++ runtimes, so please start by uninstalling and reinstalling the x86 runtime, which Sims 3 uses.  Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click the 2005 version (it won't say x86, but it's the right one as long as it does NOT say x64), and uninstall.  You can get a new copy here:

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347

You only need the x86 version, not the others.  Restart afterwards and before trying to play.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also continue to test in a clean Sims 3 folder—no mods, no saves, nothing at all—at least until the game is stable again.

The problem persisted. The game crashed in character creation mode. I was able to choose a hairstyle and create a face, but when I went to the basic information, it turn black (in image). Then the game crached.
