The Sim3 won't start on windows 8 pro 64bit

I just install origin and download The Sim 3 installed on my PC. My PC is win8 pro 64bit. 

When press start button on The Sim3 launcher will not start the game without any error.

I already update all patch to lastest version and try changing compatible mode to windows 7 but still cannot start the game.

Anyone have some solution?

    The number of people having this problem just makes me more and more frustrated, considering it's apparently been going on for some time now.

    Anyways, I'd suggest checking out this http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/Error-Analysis-Pressing-PLAY-does-nothing-Game-won-t-start-at/td-p/505602/jump-to/first-unread-message thread if you haven't already and attempting the suggestions that have been posted by other people. Sometimes something will work, but from what I've seen, most of the time nothing gets the game to run.

    With any luck you might get lucky and something in that thread will help you, but if not I suppose I'll be the one to welcome you to the "severely annoyed and impatiently waiting for EA to FINALLY get this thing working" corner of the forum.

    I have the same problem. I got my keys from the origin humble bundle and have followed the steps to add the keys via the mysims site. 

    Any ideas anyone?

  • I found in windows event log error that bitdefender have something error with ts3.exe. Disable bitdefender cannot solved.

    Finally have to remove bitdefender and can play now. Work fine without change to compatible mode. I send this error to bitdefender already hope they will fix.

    I'm glad that you're able to play your game now, and yeah, with any luck the issue between Bitdefender and TS3 will get worked out in the future. But you might wanna try getting another antivirus if you've removed Bitdefender entirely and don't have a new one yet. AVG Free Version is decent, but there are plenty of other options out there too.
