@hearts4lottie Please go into Documents > Electronic Arts and move the entire Sims 3 folder to the desktop, then try again to play. This will remove all your saves and other user content, but the files will be intact and can be restored later. For now, just let me know whether this helps.
Please also remove the screenshot listing your specs: it contains your Mac's serial number as well. This shouldn't be shared on a public website. I do appreciate your including it though, and I will note here that you have an M1 MacBook Air with 8 GB RAM and are running Sonoma 14.3.1.
