Hi there,
I use the Steam version of the Sims 3 (Purely because I use Steam) and have originally played the Sims 3 on Origin (I moved to Steam because I now play on a laptop without a disc drive)
On the Origin version of the game, I never encountered anything wrong with store content; everything would be fine. However, on the Steam version, I encountered a crash when installing Pets (Store Content would work fine) where it would close the game unexpectively (im not sure why, but I have never encountered this before but happened in the pets world, again on the other version, I never experienced this)
So I deleted the sims file to then generate a new one, which would reset to the original settings (graphics, no saves, no store content etc) then it would work alright, then when I relaunched it the second time, it would crash again. I then decided to disable the pets expansion pack through the Steam DLC, which then the launcher did not like and would refuse to open (There was no way in the launcher to disable the EP, I know in the other version there is, but in this one theres only the welcome, downloads, uploads, and installed content)
After enabling Pets, thats when I encountered the problem., the world that I originally played in with store content would then be replaced; the Super Sleep bed got replaced with a lounge chair and the MultiTab would just disappear from existance. I would then redownload them from the in game launcher, which would then say "installed to build/buy" which would normally work, however, even though they say they are installed in game, they are not there. Even when I download them from the launcher itself, they won't appear in game
Im going to show screenshots of what I mean so that you can understand what is happening and can hopefully help me with the issue
Again, I apologise for being difficult. When it comes to things like this, there is certain things that I don't understand like in the one guide, it said that it was for one specific item, this is for everything; objects, build buy items, clothing, worlds, etc.
Okay, now for some reason the store content is appearing? It said the game couldn't be played and then I closed the launcher and reopened. Now when I opened the game, the Store content is there. I do not understand, but it is there
