I use mac and have never had an issue until now with Sims 3. I just switched to the EA app as it was finally released for Mac users. I went to purchase the last 3 worlds I needed to complete the collection. When I opened the launcher I saw that I needed to redownload all my Store content. When I went to do that on the sims 3 launcher is pops up a message saying "There was an error downloading content {0}".
I tried a few forums ideas that were downloading from a different browser (I have now tried safari, chrome, and firefox). I tried downloading all at once and one at a time. I repaired the game, I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I even moved the Sims 3 folder to my desktop so when I would open the game it would create a blank slate. All these suggestions on previous posts were before switching to the EA app so I'm concerned using the EA app may be the issue.
@chxrizxrd Please create a new admin account on your Mac, run the EA App Recovery tool (under Help at the top of the screen, with the App in focus), and repair again. Then try to download one item, using Firefox. Let me know how it goes.
@FannelLicker Please try the suggestions in post 2, and if they don't work, try the new admin account as described above.

I was instructed to do this by EA support and it did not solve the issue.
