The Sims 3 Generations expansions pack won't play

So I downloaded the base game through origin, which is fine and it does play but when I downloaded and installed the generations expansion pack, everything just stopped. The launcher does open but wh...

What is your antivirus? Did your antivirus interfere with the inbstall of GEN? Did GEN patch after install? Did you try the manual patch? GEN needs to be activated online the first time you play the pack.

    My antivirus is Norton security, and not that I know of. What's a manual patch?
