  • From what I'm reading, you do need Origin now to install the game but the files should stll install from disc. Origin is just needed for the verification process. I could be wrong of course but I agree with you that a disc is completely useless if they make you download the game.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with your computer. Does it actually say it's downloading the game or just that you need to install Origin ?

Could you describe the steps in more detail (i bough the disc when it came out and have no experience how it works now so a little step by step would help me understand and maybe I'll be able to help you (pics are always great but you'll need to upload those to an external picture sharing site and then link here).

Maybe someone else that also just bought the disc version has more info but I would love to know how it all works now.

    i have installed origins.

i insert the disk, it auto runs. shows sims 3/origins scree with install button, i click install, it installs origins, then i get a log in/ register window. so i registerd to origins and loged in, now i have" my games" and "store tabs". i select my games and it shows a picture of the game case and a download button. i tryed re insterting the disk and it opens the soms 3/ origin screen again i click install again and it starts instaling origins again...any thoughts greatly appreciated.
