The sims 3 keeps spontaneously crashing on my brand new MacBook Pro

@ba30f90b1f244f81  If you happen to be playing in Bridgeport, please try Sunset Valley instead.  Bridgeport can be somewhat unstable in the 64-bit Mac version, although it seems to vary from one person to the next.

Otherwise, please create a new admin user account on your Mac and try playing there.  Don't sign in with your Apple ID (you can skip that step), and don't bring over any content from your current user files: no saves, no mods or custom content, etc.  Just start a new save, again in Sunset Valley, and see how it runs.  Either way, this will help narrow down the source of the crashes.

The blocky eyelashes is a known issue in this version of Sims 3:

The only workaround is to set the eyelash length to the minimum, or use a mod to remove them entirely, and apply cc eyelashes instead: at least some cc is unaffected.

I'm not sure whether the mouse pointer switching back and forth is related to the crashing or not.  Do you notice it immediately before a crash?  Even if whatever triggers it isn't causing a crash every time, it would be interesting to know whether there's an association.  Please also let me know whether you play in fullscreen or windowed mode.

Have you been able to fix your problem yet? I am on the MacBook Air M2 from 2022 and just get kicked out of the game without any warning or message after either. I do have all packs installed but I can't disable any on this version so I don't know how to fix my problem

@Ian101MO  An M2 MacBook Air should be able to run all packs, but if you want to try disabling some, just remove the relevant folders from within the "The Sims 3 Packs" folder.  This folder will be in the same place as the Sims 3.app, i.e. wherever you chose to install the game.  It's probably in either Applications or Users > your username > Applications.  Removing a pack's folder prevents the game from loading that pack.

Like I said though, you should be able to play with all packs.  If you have mods or custom content, please try removing that instead.  And let me know what world(s) you're playing in, and whether a new save in Sunset Valley also crashes.

Hi I have the M2 Mac from 2022, I have tried deleting recently installed cc, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, updating it, repairing it. And no matter what it continues to crash. I have not been able to play a good game in months. It crashes randomly I'm never doing anything specific. I notice at time when it crashes sometime origin's closes too. I literally don't know what else to do. I have ambitions, generations, seasons, Island paradise, late night, showtime, university life, world adventures, diesel stuff, high end loft stuff, master suit stuff and outdoor living stuff. 

@Salso0297  What world are you playing in, and does the game crash in Sunset Valley too?  Does it crash if you put Origin into offline mode before launching Sims 3?

Game crashes in Sunset Valley even after repairing, deleting and installing sims 3 again. It has no mods, no cc, a family is brand new - really weird that it keeps randomly crashing. Any help how to fix it?

@mazeikaite  Please let me know when the game crashes, if there's any pattern at all; or if there isn't, approximately how long you can play before a crash happens.

Please also list the full specs of your Mac: everything under About This Mac including the operating system and except for the serial number; and the expansion and stuff packs you currently have installed.

I currently have Seasons, Generations, Pets, Supernatural and High-End lot stuff pack. Keep in mind even with base game only the game still crashes, and it can happen at any time. Right now i opened the game and it crashed within the first 3 minutes of playing it - just randomly. I have no cc, no mods, installed nraas with overwatch and saver but it barely does anything.

@mazeikaite  Please try playing while your computer is offline, immediately after restarting it and with nothing else running in the background.  You can open the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi before pressing Play.

If this doesn't help, move the entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, then try again to play while offline.  This will remove, but not delete, your saves and other user data, which is fine and actually helpful for the purposes of this test.  Let me know what happens.

If the game still crashes, please let me know whether you use a third-party antivirus or any kind of cleaner app.

Tried playing like this - deleted electronic arts folder and turning off the wifi as well as creating a new family to play with seems to have done a trick for a longer gameplay. However, after an hour or so it crashed yet again randomly. As for the antivirus - I dont have it on my computer. I guess this game is just too broken to be played...
