THE SIMS 3 LAUNCHER WON'T OPEN! HELP!

I recently installed the the Sims 3 via origin and have been playing problem free for the past month. However, whenever I click the "play" icon on the origin menu, the launcher will not open! I have tried uninstalling/re-installing both the Sims 3 launcher and origin (multiple times), rebooting my computer, closing all background programs through task manger, opening the TS3.exe file/desktop icon, yet I'm STILL unable to find a permanent fix!

This bug is REALLY frustrating and I'm willing to do ANYTHING to fix it at this point!

    What worked for me was going into program files and coppying the launcher autorun thingy to the desktop.

    @liviones  The usual suggestion is to go into Documents\Electronic Arts and move the entire Sims 3 folder to your desktop.  That would allow the game to create a new folder (without any of the potentially corrupt files from the previous folder), that is, if the game opens at all.

    If this doesn't help, have you ever had two EA/Origin accounts merged?

    The same thing happened to me today, I've never had any problems with the sims, and i actually had two of my accounts merged today, so that should explain why sims 3 doesn't launch. Anyway I've spoken with customer support and hopefully they'll help me tomorrow. But I wanted to play so bad haha it's been years since last time i played.

    What  if the game never creates that file. I just downloaded today and I can't get the launcher to even pop up let alone try to run the game. I have copied the launcher application to my desktop...nothing. I tried bypassing by trying to run the TS3.exe file....and nothing. I'm desperate.
