The Sims 3 launcher won't open, instead goes directly into the game

I have a brand new 2018 macbook pro, i've downloaded the sims 3 and a few expansions with origin, and it runs fine but the only problem is when I open the game it goes directly into it, rather than the launcher popping up. I want to download custom content so this is a problem because every time i double click .sims3pack files it just opens the game and they're not there. but i have a few mods which work just fine. I really don't want to uninstall everything all over again because it took me ages to get my sims game and all the expansions running right

@yosistakrista  When you launch the game initially, you're supposed to see the icon for the newest pack you have installed, which it sounds like is Seasons for you.  So that's definitely not the problem.

To be clear, only files in .Sims3pack form can be read by the launcher.  Any .package files you'd like to use need to be installed like mods, and any .zip, .rar, or .7z files need to be unzipped first.  Try placing just one .Sims3Pack into Downloads inside your game folder (the one in Documnets\Electronic Arts); put aside any other files you have in Downloads for now.  If that one file still doesn't show, move the entire Sims 3 folder from Documents\EA to your desktop, open the launcher to spawn a clean folder, and move over one file again to test.

@puzzlezaddict Yeah i actually looked at that article and got the launcher working. However, the launcher only comes up as the sims 3 seasons, not the regular game. so for whatever reason the custom content is still not showing up in the launcher, and im guessing it's because it comes up as seasons and not the base game.
