The Sims 3 on Steam - Supernatural on Origin - what can I do?

I have the Sims 3 on Steam, and I have purchased The Sims: Supernatural. I keep trying to download it, but I keep getting a download error. Is it because Origin doesn't recognize I have The Sims 3 downloaded

  • The Steam version is not compatible with the Origin version.

You can redeem your steam codes on Origin though and download everything through the Origin  client. You will need to uninstall the steam version though.

Backup the folder in documents to make sure you don't loose your game progress.

    Hm

Then I would contact Customer Support.

They can be found here: https://help.ea.com/contact-us

You have the option to contact them by mail, phone or Live Chat. Make sure you have a game, a category and a platform selected for the options to become available.

For Live Chat, make sure to choose US as your country.

  • You have to register the codes from steam on www.thesims3.com and then they'll show up on your origin account associated with your sims3 account.

Actually, my codes ar all registered on TheSims3.com -- I have the badges to prove it! -- and its a no go, I had to fill out a support ticket.  For some reason EA not only feels that after its customers have invested in the Steam version that we have to uninstall and move over to Origin in order to play supernatural, but in addition they have invalidated my original codes, making doing so a nightmare.  This is deeply disappointing and unnessessary that in order to play our games we have to go through a support ticket just to be able to activate games we already own again. . . but that indeed is your answer.
