This product requires an installed copy of the Sims 3

I have an expansion bundle that came with World Adventures and Generations.  After updating the Sims 3, I was able to install World Adventures; however, when I go to install Generations, I get an error message that "this product requires an installed copy of the Sims 3."  I don't want to have to uninstall Sims 3 after the amount of time it took to update to 1.67 and I don't understand why the one expansion pack would install and work, but not the other.  Any help would be appreciated!

    @michellev1925  How did you patch to 1.67?  The launcher doesn't always do a good job of patching, which is why it's best to use the Super Patch.  Although it's a large download, it should only take a few minutes to run.

    When installing the two packs, did you or the installer select the same default install path?  It's possible that the installer for Generations didn't find the base game for some reason.  You could always try again, and select the location manually if necessary.

    It would be simple to cut through this if you were willing to patch to 1.69 and have an Origin-controlled install.  But not everyone wants that.
