Transferring Sims 3 to new Laptop

I hate two computers: my old laptop and my new laptop. My old laptop is at least 10 years old and works at a very slow pace. My old laptop is not connected to the internet and did not have EA installed. I am trying to transfer my Sims 3 to my new laptop and need help.

I was going to take the files I have of sims 3 and put them onto a USB and upload them to my new laptop, with EA. I do not want to lose all of my families in the Sims 4. How do I do this?

  • @taylorjordan21  To be clear, you can transfer the contents of the Sims 3 user folder, in Documents > Electronic Arts, to the new computer.  Your saves and saved households and builds should work fine, as should your mods and custom content.  You may however need to reinstall your Store content from scratch—the way its encryption works doesn't always allow for the same files to be used on a new computer.

What you can't do is transfer the game's program files.  You'll need to reinstall the game itself on the new computer, which shouldn't be a problem as long as your packs are registered wtih EA.
