Unable to install store content on Mac

Hello! I've been having this issue for a while now. I have probably spent over $100+ on store content and am never able to download it. I have a Mac and have the 64 bit and metal version of the Sims 3. Today I decided to try fix my problem again. I went to the store and bought an item and a message popped up I did not have the right version to install and uninstall content, which then they told me to go to the setting in the launcher and patch my game which I couldn't find. The main issue has always been getting the installer to pop up on my feed. When I click download in the launcher all the buttons go grey and the installer pops up in my app portion of my computer but never pops up on the screen. There are a few randomly downloaded things in my launcher and unless I click play without content the game will not load. I have tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling the game to being in contact with EA Help. Can someone help me out with this? I am struggling.

  • Ellerseviller  The launcher's installer stays hidden behind the launcher itself by default, but you can click the second plumbob in your Dock to bring it to the front.

For the rest, it sounds like the best approach here is to rebuild your Store content in a clean user folder, then transfer your saves and anything else you'd like to keep to that folder.  Please see this post for more details about the process:

The thing is when I click the second plum-bob the loading screen doesn't even reappear. I have to force quit it as well.

  • Ellerseviller  It can take 10-20 seconds for the installer window to open and therefore for the second plumbob to be useful.  It's also very possible that this won't work until you try installing something into a clean folder, so please do that.

Sometimes the installer won't open at all immediately after you download something, and in that case, the second plumbob won't appear at all.  The fix is to close the launcher and reopen it.
