How can I update my genuine copy of Sims 3 via origin . I have a few stuff packs and they work fine but it won't install into the future until I update my base game. The problem I am having is that the base game and all my packs are installed on my d drive. Is there a way to download and install the update here ?
If you installed to game to an alternate drive then the patch should find it. You could try applying the manual patch over the download patch. Link to manual pc patch - manual patch for pc. Download and run. Click ok to re apply patch.
May have fixed it . There was an old Sims file on my c drive that was prob confusing the patch. I tried deleting it before but it kept saying you do not have permission . Just been looking and there was a hidden user on my laptop that was also an administrator and as soon as I logged on as that I was able to delete any remnants of the Sims of my c drive .. fingers crossed it works
