So I'm trying to build a house on an empty lot and when I try to place it, it says "You are in violation of the fire code. You have reached the maximum number of objects you can place on the lot. I...
Unfortunately that sounds more and more like a corrupted save file to me. Do you have the possibility to move your family out and start with them in another neighbourhood?

I am having a similar issue. I created a family eith 6 members on the Wii U. It consisted of a mom, dad, child, and 3 teen girls. The child was taken away because I was new and couldn't find out how to feed her. A fire started in the kitchen and a teen used a fire extenguisher to put it out. A few sim days pass, and i get a message that i have violated the Fire Regulations and have a fire extinguisher on hand. I am suck of the family at this point and let the fire kill the husband. It goes out on its own. It happens again and kills the mom and 2 teens leaving 1 unharmed. The house is about to burn down, so the teen (who has aged to an adult, it happened in her birthday ) moves out into a new, pre built house. Looking back, the fire in the old house made since beacause i had filled it to the brim. A few days after the new Adult moves into the house, i get the notification AGAIN. I remove some unnecessary items and install fire extinguishers in each room. I get it AGAIN a few sim days later. What is going on?!?!-Kat
