[ARCHIVED] [HR] Ranch Hand Stays Past 7 pm

I had a Ranch Hand that just wouldn't leave and was just wandering around my Sims' house like he lived there, too and "send everyone home" did not work. The gate was locked but I'd selected "allow access for Ranch Hand" so it shouldn't have been keeping him from leaving. He did not have "Ranch Hand" over his name or the ranch hand interactions or outfit so he was definitely off duty. I went to manage worlds and back in but he was still there. So I dismissed Ranch Hand service and got a notification that any currently on the lot should finish any work they're doing and leave. I also unlocked the gate just in case and watched him finally leave.

But then.... I can't hire a new Ranch Hand because it for some reason thinks there's already one hired..... and just now the Grim Reaper randomly showed up on my lot, glided over to a random spot, and got out his tablet. No one was there except two foals standing to the side of the spot, but no one in front of the Reaper where the dead Sim usually is. I wasn't sure if he was there for the Butler and it was just acting weird because the butler is an elder and there's no one else around who has any reason to die. But.... then a grave appeared in the random spot where no one was and..... has the Ranch Hand's name. It's very bizarre.

@PipMenace  OMGosh! So I had a dinner party on Harvest Fest so I could have all the extended family for dinner. I dismissed the maid so they wouldn't put the finished turkey in the fridge. When I did that, it fired the Ranch Hand! I was dumbfounded. I immediately hired one back. Now, I'm having the issue you seem to be having. Mine needs rehired almost every single day. If I leave the house at all. So every single time I go to high school with the son, the Ranch Hand is gone and never comes back. I now regret dismissing the maid. I should have just let them put that dang turkey dinner in the fridge. 

Vanilla game. One Sim, a cat, a dog, 4 horses, 2 goats and a sheep. 

LOVE having a Ranch Hand, but they are a bit glitchy. Sometimes they end up staying way past 7pm. Sometimes if they stay late, they have to be rehired once they do leave. Other times they stay late and still show up for their next shift. Sometimes, if my Sim travels before 7am and returns home after 7pm, the Ranch Hand is still there. Other times he's gone. When he's there he's brilliant. Just wish he were more consistent.

Adding an aside: This not a fix for having to constantly rehire the Ranch Hand.

If you have a Ranch Hand (or Maid, Nanny, Butler, Gardener) that is not up to the job, make note of their name, (fire them first - if you want the satisfaction) go to Household Management and delete them. The game will generate a new one next you call to Hire a Service. You can keep doing this until you get one that does their job. 

AND somehow, Ranch Hand is back to the original status. She is back to never leaving and doing amazing work. I got a Butler, and I made mental note to never dismiss him. lol lol  I don't know if hiring her back every single day just finally stuck? I'm one of the lucky ones with the Ranch Hand. Whatever it was, I'll take it. 

I am having the same issue. I am playing with no Mods and No CC. 

I am also having a problem with the Ranch Hand not doing the tasks that they are asked to do. I.E I ask the ranch hand to clean up the manure and she will do the gardening, give the horses treats, and do the laundry instead.

What happens when the bug occurs? I hired a ranch hand and they won't leave. I fired the ranch another one came and the other one stay so I have to ranch hands that never leave never.

Sounds fun :3 I'd see how many ranch hands I could stack on the property if this bug was my issue. Then throw a party 🥳

I also noticed this bug in my game. 

They usually stays until 11:00pm or 12:00pm or just never leave. Some times they stay 2 or 3 days straight and then leave, very inconsistent. 

They do have some misbehavior like harvesting my crops and collecting my fresh eggs which drives me crazy!
