[ARCHIVED] [LD] Rebirth: Sims disappear off screen

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.110.294
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1. Have a sim with the any of the traits listed in the post 2. Try to rebirth the Sim when applicable
What happens when the bug occurs? The will go into the bog and just disappear from the screen, never triggering the map so I can place the Sim into a household
What do you expect to see? The map opening so I can place my Sim
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Installed LandD

I tested a user save so not 100% sure if it's the only factor but all I did was remove the trait and then it worked.

For console players: These cheats do not require testingcheats so it shouldn't disable your achievements. I can not make any guarantees though. If you want to be 100% sure, you need to wait until EA fixes the bug.

- Untrouble (traits.remove_trait untroubled)

- Romantic Sage (traits.remove_trait RomanticSage)

- Affection Aficionado (traits.remove_trait love_Poly)

- Werewolf (traits.remove_trait trait_occultwerewolf)

- Beloved (traits.remove_trait trait_Legendary)

  • Dauntless
  • sulani mana
  • father winter's baby
  • ancient bloodline (any spellcaster bloodline)
  • the knowledge

EDIT: Did some more testing on this and I believe all that really happens is that you miss the placement screen. If you go to manage household after the failed rebirth, you will find the Sim in the household manager (not in world). From there you can place it and other that that you can't choose the age, there seem no downsides. I haven't played very long though.

    Whenever my sim trys to be reborn he just vanishes and nothing happens. I disabled my mods and even repaired my games files with the same result. My game just sits there and if i save and reload it takes me to world manager and there is no option to be reborn from my sim.

    I found that having another sim in the household seemed to work. My sim was reborn properly that way. *shrug*

    @Dosico 

    Was he the only sim in that household? If so Infants and toddlers can not live by themselves there must be a teenager or older in the household. It is my understanding that he will then be in manage households.

    Same thing happened to me, but it was the very first rebirth I tried. My sim was never reborn and I didn't exit to CAS. I did have another sim in my household at the time of rebirth. Maybe that's what triggered it?

    Hello!

    I was having the same problem and discovered that it was only with one specific Sim.

    I tried many things, there were many tests until I came to the conclusion that it was a personality trait.

    Oh I see, yes he was the sole sim in the household as a ghost. I had another sim and he was reincarnated successfully. Thanks for your reply! 🙂

    I am trying to rebirth two characters and when I click on the “rebirth” option with any of them, the sim just disappears from the screen, I can’t select him anymore and the map/cas screen never show up.

    I'm also having problems with Rebirth. My Sim completed their Life's Journey, getting the Burning Soul trait. I was excited to rebirth them in the Baleful Bog, but when I do, they stick around swimming in the bog aimlessly, and I can no longer control them. It doesn't even take me into CAS. When I go to Manage Worlds and go back into the household, the Sim turns into an infant and disappears forever. For context, I don't have any mods installed and I have all the packs, except for a few CAS kits. I even tried saving the Sim to the Gallery and trying in a different save but it doesn't work like it should.
