[OPEN] [CHEATS] Skill Cheat Not Working To Lower Skill Level

I noticed this as well. I use this cheat especially as a work-around for the movement milestone glitch in toddlers. I was able to lower the skill to 1, then 2, and repeat that once more to unlock the first two movement milestones. Afterwards, the milestones would unlock naturally. Now, I can't get those two milestones because I can't do the cheat workaround meaning that now my toddlers who aged up from infants can't get those two milestones because it's off now.

I play on pc.  I've tried repairing the game but that didn't work.  I've been trying to cheat up skill in baking and logic.  When I put in the code (after testingcheats on) nothing happens.  I usually get a level up notification when I use the cheat but it's not happening.

Almost every update something breaks that makes me stop playing for months. 

I’ve been playing a legacy family tree for -years- with all supersims, no cheats and no mods, ever. I always bought ALL packs and kits. Last big error with for rent almost broke every save file i had while trying to fix my lot that i’d changed to rental to finish that ambition.

This summer that milestone thing came along and for my next generation of children i wanted all milestones possible completed. After reading here and on reddit i kinda came to terms with ’ok i have to cheat to get the milestones, i’ll bring back down their skills to level 4 once and manually work back to 5’. It made me so sad about cheating so i stopped playing in august.

N now the reaper challenge came and got me fired up, i was prepared to use the cheat to finally get to play and enjoy it again. And after trying to get the cheats to work for idk 3 hours today i found this thread. Just my luck with it having worked until sept 18th lol.

I did some extra trouble shooting just to be sure too. Repaired game, started new saves. Equipping skills with 

stats.set_skill_level Skill_Toddler_Movement 5

works just fine, but lowering it back down with say

stats.set_skill_level Skill_Toddler_Movement 3

does nothing. And it’s the same with the adult code, equipping works. Lowering doesn’t.

I am not about to download any mods. And there seems to be no way of getting all the toddler milestones when you have already gotten the Top Notch infant trait without mods.

EA please fix this 😭 i spent fortunes on this game and i want to continue to do so, I usually find work-arounds but there seems to be none for this.

I repaired the app and the game again and the skill cheat seems to be working except for lowering the skill.  I tried lowering my sims mischief skill because I don't like my sims to be mischievous, but it didn't work.  Haven't tried it on another skill yet.

I have the same problem on PC.  I can't change skill levels up or down, nor can I change career status.  I just started playing Sims 3 days ago.  I tried to resort the cheat because the game crashed and all the characters accomplishments were lost.  So frustrating.  Now I am just trying to set their accomplishments back to where they were prior to the crash, and nothing works pertaining to their skills or careers.  Other cheats pertaining to building, etc seem to work.  I lost all of my new builds as well.  I even back up the game to a storage device and I still got bamboozled due to the severe crash and it froze up the entire computer.  I first tried playing Sims via Xbox, but that was a disaster. Poor play ability and lost the entire game due to a crash on the very first day.  Started playing it via Stream and it was working fine until again another major crash. Might be a sign to quit this game all together after 3 days of play. (I've never played any form of Sims before)

I don’t usually cheat skills, but sometimes the mischief skill gets obnoxious and I either lower it or get rid of it entirely (though it does always come back eventually), so I have no idea when this problem started for me. It’s been a while since I tried to lower a sim's skill. Anyway, I’m on PS5, have just about all the packs except the last three or so expansions and only the kits we got for free. As others have experienced, I can raise skills, but they will not lower. And since they won’t lower, I also can’t set them to zero to get rid of them. I can raise them just fine. As soon as I hit enter, I get the notifications that the skill is going up. It’s really frustrating lowering them hasn’t been working. Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus.

Same issue for my Toddler. Milestones weren't registering, all his skills are at max, which I gained the legit way, but a bunch of milestones didn't pop, like the learn to dance, etc so I tried to lower them to see if I can get the milestones to trigger and it doesn't work. I can raise skills on my adult sims so I know the cheats are enabled, just can't lower my toddlers skills. I'm on xbox 

same issue here, suddenly can only cheat skills up, not down.

no mods or cc ever. Hope this gets fixed asap.
