@Liziann1 dont stress to much its all about learning, so feel free to ask any questions.
To place things on shelves that dont automatically sit on them make sure you have bb.moveobjects on, pick up the item while holding it press 9 to raise its height to the shelf height 0 will lower it. Then hold down the alt button and move the item to sit exactly where you want it on the shelf.
I also have noticed that items can disappear that you put on this way if you change your wall coverings (anywhere on that floor) after doing it so my advice is wait til you have completed your build and add the clutter at the end.
