This concept all started with a simple conversation in origin with @fuzgirl65 ~ Both of us agreeing we really just needed to get in game and play sims again. That thought in mind and hours of fun filled gameplay later I had a beautiful new family that was a blend between her sim style and mine. Thank you Josie for creating Dawn Simpkins who I simply fell in love with long ago and for inspiring this idea in me 💜

Another great friend, @kass17 loved the idea so much that she and I decided to try this game play scenario again with her sims and mine. The end result being the official start to the #BlendingFriends game play challenge 💜

Official Blending Friends Challenge information: 

This is a GAME PLAY challenge • I’ve done it many times and always enjoy watching the sims I’ve loved creating and the sims I adore from other talented creators connect through their autonomy, not any control from me.

First ◾ Put 8 sims designed by creators you love into one household. You can use 1 of your own sim creations if you’d like. You can divide them equally between males and females or any combination that works best for you and your gameplay enjoyment. Each sim should be from a different creator in your household. You may use the cheat “freerealestate on” to move them into a big enough home. I recommend using another builder’s home which will add to the fun of blending friends in your game! I am not a great builder so I love spoiling my sims by living in the amazing homes simmers create and share to the gallery. Do not use any other cheats. In the beginning to pay the bills you can sell your household furnishings for simoleons if necessary. Be sure to put your chosen sims to work in a field that compliments their given aspiration as soon as possible because no other cheats are allowed in this challenge. Do not change, edit or alter the aspiration, traits, skills or physical attributes that the original creator gave to the sims you’ve chosen to play. Play with full autonomy on and regular lifespan.

Next ◾ Watch them like reality TV until the flirting and coupling starts. You may encourage these actions with outside influencers like traveling with everyone to the romance festival, turning the channel to romance TV, using the special incense fragrance “romantic sandalwood” to get them in the mood, placing objects with a flirty aura in their home, etc. DO NOT directly use any romantic interactions. If you’re a simmer who absolutely needs to control your sims interactions with others in the household then use friendly interactions only and sparingly. The best way to play through this challenge is by NOT controlling any interactions at all. Treat this sims challenge like reality TV. Be a true "watcher" and don’t control the sims. You may take control in other ways like getting jobs and traveling wherever your sims whims desire to go. If you travel, take all available sims in your household. Go to festivals, venues, neighbors homes, etc. together unless a sim is unavailable due to work hours. If that is the case then travel with all available sims. Remember to allow them the autonomy to socialize and build relationships with whom they want and how they want within the household. 

Then ◾ Once you see solid romance bars established between two of your sims, you may take control of their romantic interactions. Established romance bars may take several sim days or more. You may be tempted to give your in game favorites a little nudge but don’t do it. It will happen sooner or later autonomously by the sims in your household. You might find more than one pairing has taken place so pick your favorite couple and start a family with them. Picking just one couple is the hardest part though! That’s why you see many #BlendingFriends families in the gallery 😍 

Finally ◾ With your official couple picked, you can take control back as you prompt them through dating, marriage and/or moving out together and at least one child. For same sex couples, please change their pregnancy options in CAS only after the relationship is established. If you’d like, please share your new blended families to the gallery using the hashtag #BlendingFriends ◾ Share just one or continue through the game play to match them all up through autonomy into loving new families that are a blended mix of your favorite Sim creators and friends! You just might fall in love with them so much they become your new legacy family as my original family, The Champion's did!!

You could also try to story blog about it if you have Tumblr, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube or any other social media you share your simming experiences on. Please tag me if you do! • It’s always best to hashtag original creators when uploading your blending families to The Sims 4 gallery since you will have sims from other creators blended together with one of yours or with another friendly creator 💜 Creators love to see their content getting loved up in other simmers games.💜
